Fees & Rebates at 1 July 2025

 

You don’t need a Mental Health Treatment Plan to access our services. While many clients are referred through a GP under a Mental Health Care Plan, we also welcome private clients who choose to self-refer.

 

Please note: if you attend as a private client without a Mental Health Treatment Plan, you won’t be eligible to claim a rebate through Medicare.

 

Standard appointment time is up to 60 minutes.

 

Standard fee is $140.00 per visit before Medicare rebate

Pension/Health Care Card Holders $115.00 per visit before Medicare Rebate

 

Medicare Rebate $87.25 (Clients with a current GP Mental Health Treatment Plan) 

 

All fees are payable at the time of appointment. A referral is not needed to access Portland Counselling. However, to access the Medicare rebate, a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan is required.

 

When booking to see your GP for a Mental Health Care Plan, please advise the medical clinic that you will need a long appointment to allow time for your GP to write the plan.

 

Please note that Medicare does not pay for late cancellations or did not attend's and if this occurs you will be required to pay a fee.

 

Plan-managed NDIS clients via referral from their Support Coordinator.
